It's been five years since Scrappy's 2003 Freedom Records solo debut Turbinado and three years since the 2005 follow-up, Byzantine. Since then, he has been busy performing, touring and/or recording with The Resentments, Ian Mclagan and Matt the Electrician and Beaver Nelson, among others. Recently, he's been playing with Todd Snider on his swings through Texas. Ride the High Country features 10 new Scrappy originals. It was recorded at The Aerie, Mark Addison's south-of-town studio paradise. The two co-produced under the moniker, Old World Productions.
