It all started more than a decade ago with one great idea. Two giants of Austin’s country music scene - guitarist Casper Rawls (Toni Price, The LeRoi Brothers) and drummer Tom Lewis (Jim Lauderdale, The Wagoneers) - were such fans of country music pioneer Buck Owens that they wanted to recognize his birthday by staging an annual concert. Now headed into it’s 11th year at Austin’s fabled Continental Club, this event has become a tradition that has not only celebrated the life and music of Buck Owens, but has also raised money every year for The Travis County Children’s Advocacy Center (including all artist royalties from sales of this CD).
